Airasia flight connection

Hi everyone I'm looking for feedback on time between flights. I have two fights both on Airasia. The first one is from Siem Reap to Bangkok (DMK) Tues Dec 10th 12:15-1:25. I then have a second flight: DMK to Chiang Mai same day at 4:55. I will have a checked bag on the first flight that I will have to collect, get a visa on arrival, and go through immigration. I want to store my bag at the airport. Sine it will be a short stay in Chiang Mai, I plan to take just what I need for the days I'm there.
What do you think about the time between flights? It is 3.5 hours, is that enough or is it too short? I've been looking or posts about baggage storage but would like a better idea of where it is and how that will affect getting to my second flight. Also these fights were booked separately because I couldn't figure out how to get it on one ticket. I don't now if that changes the advice you give. I appreciate any help!

DMK airport is very easy to navigate and the waiting time at immigration is usually a short one. 3.5 hours is plenty of time IMO as it will take you the most 30 minutes to go through immigration and collect your bags. The line at the check-in counters are very short as well so no worries unless there is a delay for your flight from SR.

my only question would be if they still have a facility for storing luggage??

DMK is easy to go through, I much prefer to BKK , but that's just me....

My passport is USA and i had no problems at Immig. Other passports have different rules about 'walk-in visas'. DMK is a bit old, rusty and inefficient but not too big; 3.5 hrs ought to be OK.

Thanks for the advice! I was kind of nervous because I have something planned the day after my connection and didn't want to have to cancel. Also, thanks for the link to the baggage storage and the report on having a US passport.
