AirAsia Booking Problems
God, I know this has been discussed here before...in fact I was searching up and down for a recent thread on this same topic but can't find it...but I cannot book our Air Asia tickets.
Keep getting an error message...not sure if it's about that pesky "State" field for US residents -- or really what it is. Any suggestions? I know many others before me have probably asked this--but I'm getting kinda frustrated with their site and am about to give up. Never had one issue ever booking a ticket online like this before--not really a great sign for Air Asia so far. |
I just did a dummy booking and it went OK. Sorry my friend don't know what to advise!
|
From what I recall on the other thread--this is mostly a US-based issue.
Wondering if Bob or the Panda can chime in on this since they've booked Air Asia tickets from the States (I'm assuming)... |
FW
I had an error too last year and it drove me insane, i even called my CC company they said there wasn't an issue but they said there was a shadow of an attempt to take the fare but it was never processed. Anyway i left it and tried again a month later and it went thru!!! I know this doesnt help you BUT it should give you hope it should go thru eventually.... (it did though costs me some ££ as the prices went up in the meantime!) Have you called AA? they have numbers in many countries. |
FW-Bob booked the Air Asia tickets and he's in GFS Maine or NH this weekend. One thing you can try is to do it on another computer. I've tried shadow booking and it seemed to work fine.

Try using another browser i.e. instead of Intrnt Explr you would use Mozilla or something else and then turn off your not accepting cookies thingy..... good luck
Aloha! |
try using internet explorer... try using another credit card... make sure your dates are not out too far...
a year ago i had lots of trouble, but more recently no trouble at all |
I had the same problem in BKK in Dec, I called AA and the explanation was the system was jammed because many people were trying to book, wait 30 minutes and try again. So I did and it went through. I had booked in NYC and Hanoi too and had no problem. I think try to do it kind of quickly. With Agoda, they tell you to complete booking in so many minutes and they mean it. I would also do the booking late night Asian time when most Asians are sleeping. Hope it works out for you.

FINALLY!
I was literally about to give up and just book a Malaysia Air flight. I tried everything: changed browsers, typed our info in about 200 different ways and kept getting the same error message over and over again. I finally took TheBob(TM)'s advice and changed to a different credit card in a last ditch effort and BAM--we have our tickets. Weird, that site is. I wish you all good luck booking tickets on it. Straight up bizarre. Anyway, all our flights are booked now and we're officially at the 110 days-to-go mark (but, hey, who's counting?) I'm excited! Now if only I can figure out how we'll ditch The Bob(TM) and his Royal Panda-ness. :) |
Haha...sorry about the formatting errors above.
I tried to trademark Bob's name and it ended up coming up as an emoticon. I guess putting a 'b' and a '(' together equals some sort of winky dude and/or some black-eyed dude--either way not what was envisioned/intentioned. |
It does look a bit like Bob!

So, um, when is the Bali GTG anyway?
|
we have not set a date-- i guess this should come to the front...
lets start by listing everyone's dates: we are in bali from may 21- june 4 and andy comes a day or two later and stays to the 4th or 5th.... |
I thought we had said the 26th in Ubud? Or perhaps I'm losing my mind--which is entirely possible...
|
We are in Ubud from the 22nd to the 28th, FYI.

His Bobness is easy to ditch, just do something cultural and he'll fall by the wayside. Pandas are much harder to get rid of. We bound along with endless energy almost everywhere. It was good to have you put a number of days on your trip, I did the same and our cold winter doesn't seem so endless. Bali, here we come!

<divergence>
For those of you interested in Australian culture, Mr. Kevin Bloody Wilson has a song about digestive complications in Bali -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAXfmvdA0Vk (With deep apologies to Mr Panda after his recent travel woes.) </divergence> |
lol lol rizzuto: it's not hard to see why Kevin Bloody Wilson is an Australian cultural hero. For a land with a population that can't even pronounce the name of their own country, I think it's appropriate. Too many syllables.
Yes, I'm from 'Straya' too. I'm sure you've perused the rest of his oevre: I particularly like his paeon to the national obsession: 'I'm a Wanker'. |
My favorite is KBW's <i>Hey Santa Claus</i>, which captures the spirit of the season so well.
Shame I never got to see KBW & Slim Dusty perform on the same program. |
i put the 26th on my chart....
