Air trans within Asia

Planning a trip for summer and would like to combine time in Bangkok and Beijing. Looking for some ideas on flights between the 2 cities. Have looked at booking as a part of a package through expedia, etc and it seems horribly priced handling it in that manner.
As always, any help is appreciated.

You are in luck! I just wrote about this on another thread. I'll paste it here for your convenience- If you read the article you will see there are LCC airlines that go between major cities with really low rates. Below are examples of domestic travel in Thailand but the article lists Ok Airways for China. Also, try google for other LCC available.

Check this out! CondeNast Traveler has a whole article devoted to LCC in Asia. (That's Low Cost Carriers)

Under Thailand they recommend Air Asia, which I have found to be the cheapest, and also Nok Air, and Thai Air Asia. Air Asia flies directly to and from Chiang Rai with fares from $199 B to $1,450 B. If you fly out on a weekday, it's only $199 - that's $4.97 each way!!

I'm flying between BKK and CM on Air Asia for about $20 each way. The article also lists all LCC for Asia which allows you to book fligths to other Asian cities cheaply.

Air Asia also is advertising 5000 free seats to Bali in an effort to encourage travelers to go there after the recent bombings.

There are only two non-stops a day between PEK and BKK, on Air China or Thai Airways. And fares are usually not cheap.

There are other itineraries, with one stop, via Hong Kong, Macau, etc... The cheapest one is probably Air Macau PEK-MFM, and then Air Asia MFM-BKK.

Air Macau has online booking if originating from Macau, but not from Beijing. Requires registration. Unfortuntely, when I try a booking, the fare they give me is like a full-fare. You probably have to go through an agent to get a good fare.

Surprised they did not mention One-2-Go which is also a large domestic bidget airline in Thailand.
Do remember that if you are searching for Thailand Yahoo includes a lot of Thai and Asia sites that either never appear on 'other' large search engines or appear way way down, I recently check for the website of a resort in Thailand, it appeared Number 1 on Yahoo ( which I always use ) and just for curiositty sake I looked on the 'other one' and I think it came in about 10 pages down!
