Air Ticket to Luang Prabang
 

I understand that bankgok airways flies to Luang Prabang. Is it cheaper to buy tickets directly at their internet site or at a thai agency? Any comments appreciated.

my experience with bkk air is that you cannot save any money with an agent over buying directly from them, although i have often tried...you can save money by buying an air pass from them however...but that requires 3 legs of a trip...you might find it worthwhile to buy the pass and throw away the 3rd leg????

You may want to have a look at Lao Airlines as an alternative.

with lao don't you have to fly through the capital??

Last year we flew from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang return, non stop in both directions.

tang---i thought i read that they had stopped that service??

Both Thai and Lao airlines fly between CM and LP. Thai on mon/thur/sat and Lao on tues/fri/sun.
