Air routes from Vietnam to Myanmar
 

I have read with great interest a post recently about touring in Myanmar. From Australia it's easy (and cheap) to fly to Vietnam, so I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to go from Vietnam (Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, doesn't matter) to any destination in Myanmar. I guess I am asking about air routes, as I hear that the roads are not open (but maybe that's obsolete information). Thanks for all suggestions!

Alan,<BR><BR>From Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) you've to fly on Malaysia air and thai air to get to Myanmar (Rangoon, capital city of Myanmar). Unless you can get to Bangkok from Austrilia and fly from Bangkok to Myanmar direct. Go to www.expedia.com to search the flight schedule.

Thanks (again!) Sandy... I did as you suggested and checked Expedia. Looks like my best plan is to try for a cheap flight from Sydney to Bangkok!

Alan<BR>I was wondered that Vietnam airline doesn't serve Yangon airlink with either Hanoi or Ho chi minh, very interesting, because both of them are ASEAN members.<BR>If you go forwards to bkk, there are should be other airlines besides THAI serving bkk-yangon route.

Bangkok-Yangon are Thai & Myanmar Airways. From Sydney if you want to get straight to Myanmar try Thai, Singapore Airlines, Malasysia Airlines.
