well, this thread has been around abit too long for me not to inject my 2cents. i times 100 peters comments of 4/28 on united airlines. my comments on this airlines have been consistent. i should take a lesson from peter on diplomacy, however, my feelings on united have remained unchanged, and i don't know how to be diplomatic about them, they suck. yes, i know, if i'm unhappy change! easier said than done. i have too many miles with them, so i don't want to change, however, this should not curtail my right to express my opinion bout their service. i find the service from nrt to sing excellent, and far superior than from the west coast to nrt. i once had a crew from chicago, and the one significant effort of their service was to disappear from the plane immediately after the "meal" service. i have flown ana and ua bus. class, and trust me, no comparison. ana, like most foreign airlines, win hands down over ua. have not flown china air, but my thoughts on flying foreign airlines have been express here. as much as i dislike ua, i'd fly them before any foreign, except any japan airlines, unless the fares are sooo exceptional, ie sf to nrt on kal for $200 rt, then kom sum ne da. will be going to nrt and bkk in 2 weeks on ua. yes, yes, if the service is significanly change,i will so post. but i doubt it.

To the poster concerned about China Airlines and the difference in safety record between that carrier and Air China, please see my posting of 5/2, below.
