Has anyone flown this airlines?

Many times. They have good equipment and are a safe airline.

Air China is rated as 3 stars.

As a contrast, Singapore Airlines, which consistently is ranked #1 in the world, is mostly 5 and 4 stars.

Cathay Pacific is ranked #3 and is mostly 5 and 4 stars. If you can possibly, go on Cathay Pacific.

The intra-China airlines, China Eastern and China Southern, come out a bit better than Air China.

There really is no comparison between Cathay, Singapore and the Chinese airlines.

Regardless of the "ratings" the big 3 in China are basically all the same.
