Air Asia question
The countdown to my trip to Malaysia has begun--2 1/2 weeks away, and I'm starting to freak out a bit regarding the details. We're flying Air Asia within Malaysia and I was looking at their website and I noticed the restriction on luggage size. I was aware of the weight allowance, but I didn't realize they have a size restriction as well. My suitcase is a few inches bigger than what the website says is allowable. Just how closely do they look? Will they measure it? I've never seen an airline do that, except with a carryon (and most seem to get on anyway). Am I going to have a problem or are they pretty lax about size?

laurie---they do not measure it they just confiscate it....so put the socks in your pocket....and eric too...

We flew Air Asia 3 times last winter--Bangkok to Phuket, Phuket to Bangkok, Bangkok to Chiang Rai with 2 medium duffles and 2 hanging bags. They never weighed them. 2 of the flights were full.

Thanks twofortheroad. I'm not worried about the weight, I'm pretty sure I can meet that requirement. But I just bought a new piece of luggage, one of those Samsonite Spinners that I want to use and it's either 24 or 26", and the website says maximum is 22". I sure hope they're not too picky.
Bob, we'll be wearing the socks. |
Don't worry laurieco! I flew Airasia both within Malaysia as well as to Bangkok last last year and didn't have any problems with my luggage. My carryon was 24" and my check-in luggage was 28". And my check-in luggage didn't go missing either!

laurie---are you worried about leeches on the plane or in the airport?? yikes

Whew, thanks tayls. I was getting a bit worried that I would be repacking at the airport trying to stuff my junk into a smaller suitcase. I can sleep better now!
Bob, remember, if I'm bringing them back for you, I have to worry about them everywhere. |
