Agra or Delhi
 

Should I spent 2 days in Agra (visting Taj, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri) and 1 in Delhi OR 1 day in Agra and 2 days in Delhi?

If it were me, I'd spend the two days in Agra. I believe you will see more of the "real" India in Agra, although I'll have to admit, it is not a very attractive city. Be sure to see the "Baby Taj" (It-Ma-Udallah Tomb) in Agra.

There is much to see in Delhi as well and if you are a serious shopper, you should definitely spend 2 days there.

If that's all the time you have then maybe the air fare is a waste of money.

Thanks. I'm working in Chennai and only have a weekend so that's why the stay is so short.

Agra I'd say - but plan it well, all your transfers and all so you minimize time wasted.

Sepnd a night in Agra and than time in Delhi...as follows -

Day
Take the morning flight flight from Chennai to Delhi - reach here by about 0930 hours..
Drive to Agra - 203 kms / 4 hours - enroute visit Sikandra - In Agra Visit Agra Fort, Itmad-udaulah and Taj Mahal (stay till sunset)..
**however make sure this day 01 is not a Friday since Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays....

Day 02
Do an early morning visit of Taj Mahal...Later

Agra / delhi - enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri....

In the afternonn inDelhi visit - OLD DELHI...specially the Chandni Chowk area - colourful lanes and bazaars like lace market - Kinari Bazzar, spice market called Khari Baoli etc..= Jamma Masjid.

Day 03
Delhi - Visit other parts of Delhi - Government Buildings + Humayun Tomb + Qutab Minar and the new Akshardam Temple...+ If time permits Bhai Temple...

You can either take the 7 or 9 P.M flight back to Chennai or travel to Chennai on Day 04 early morning (back to work)..
