After a long flight...dinner in Ginza area suggestions needed

I've now figured out how to get from Narita to our hotel in the Ginza area of Tokyo! After a long flight from California, we are looking for a place to have dinner and then head to BED! We are staying at the Millenium Garden Hotel. Something close to the hotel. No sushi. Many thanks...

We stayed at the Marriott in the Ginza area, which is now a Courtyard Marriott. We also wanted a quick, easy dinner after a long flight, so we headed to the basement of the two department stores in the Ginza area. They are Mitsukoshi and Matsuya. I can't remember which one we ate at that night, but at least one had a bunch of casual, quick restaurants in the basement. The food was really good, and the service was wonderful. There is also a Denny's, believe it or not, in the Ginza area. My younger son, who was with me on that trip, thought it would be fun to go there, so we had some dessert there one night. It was pretty good.

California Lady is quite right about the Department Stores close by with both food court basements and multi restaurant top floors. I’d also add Ginza6 to the list.
I like the tonkatsu at Keitei on the restaurant floor of the Matsuya Ginza.
One of our strategies was to buy yogurt, fruit and pastries for the next mornings breakfast, some good quality choices in the food courts.
Room usually has small fridge and coffee maker.
There are some good breakfast spots but usually the hotel buffets are a little pricey unless you are a big eater and we found that not many places opened before 10:00 am.
Have a good time

I agree with both CaliforniaLady and kalihiwai2. The department stores have really good food choices. I eat at them regularly and am back in Tokyo at present as I flew in from LAX the other day. I've been to the food sections at both Mitsukoshi and Ginza 6 as I shop there. Whenever I'm hungry and want something fast, I head to a department store. Plus, there's a lot of food variety.

Have fun in Tokyo. :eat:

Happy Travels!

Your hotel concierge should be able to make recommendations and a reservation for you nearby. We ate at our hotel’s top floor bar our first night, too tired for anything more than that. Another night we wanted some some simple vrilled Yakitori and went to Toriyoshi. It is located in Ginza in a high rise building as are many restaurants. Fun experience. No English. Pointed at photos. Delicious.
The thing that surprised us was that so little English is spoken. We had several great meals in Ginza but I am traveling and do not have all the names with me.
We ate lunch in a department store, wonderful. You can buy. beautiful Bento boxes on tne department store basements too.,Also , a surprise, was that restaurants may only serve one type of preparation such as yakitori, tempura. The tempura in Tokyo was out of this world, not greasy at all. Enjoy Japan, one of favorite trips anywhere.
