Affordable hotels Bangkok

Any affordable hotel recomendations in Bangkok. All the highly recommended hotels on this forum (Oriental, Sukhothai, Peninsula) seem really expensive. Were talking $275 U.S per night, being from Canada, that's $440 when converted. I'm looking for something around the $150 range (U.S.) Thanks in advance.
Last year, while in Bangkok, we stayed at the Imperial Impala Hotel. Very attractive, central location (one block off main thorough fare and the skytrain), excellent food and service. Can't say how much it cost because we were in a group, but feel sure it would fit your budget.

Marco,
Just back from BKK. We were on a tour and stayed at the Regency Park Hotel off Sukothai Rd., 2 blocks from Skytrain station. The rate for a double is about $60 (2600 Baht). It's not fancy like the ones you mentioned, but the room was very clean, had a King bed and large bathroom with good water pressure and HOT water. I would stay here again.

Check out asiatravel.com or asiarooms.com. I've always used one of these two services to book our rooms in Thailand and have always been pleased with the rooms and the prices. Hope you have a great trip.

Check out circleofasia.com, they have the Peninsula for $124 per night including tax. It was a beautiful hotel.

Check out Toureast Canada at http:// www.toureast.ca/ for hotel rates which are quoted in canadian dollars. While these may not be the best rates that you can get, they can be used as a guide.

We just got back from the Peninsula, it was wonderful. Our rate was $120 USD plus tax and service (or another 17%). It was worth it though. We booked directly at the Peninsula's website (www.peninsula.com).
