Advice for travel with Thai Airways

Hi!

I've seen great responses to Thailand topics. Hope I can get some advice, since I over-analyze.

Family of 4 with 2 children ages 3 and under. Sorry, but we have to get back to the U.S. somehow.

TG direct BKK-LAX flight in economy.

1. Fare has gone down over 2,000 baht (per person) from what I paid. Does anyone know if Thai Airways gives price adjustments? Asking because I already had to change my tickets once and paid 2,000 each. Had an issue with the (separately booked) connecting flight after LAX and needed to change dates. Would love to sort of offset this if possible.

2. Website is currently showing only 2 completely empty center rows left with the 4 seats. They're in the back. Departing in less than 24 hrs. Would be wonderful to have two rows for the 4 of us, so the kids can stretch out to sleep. If I move us to these 2 rows, what do you think are the chances of us actually getting to keep them to ourselves? The worst would be is if we end up sharing the rows, and the others would not be willing to switch with us to get back to 1 row.

Thanks!

Check with the airline about price adjustments.

It sounds like the flight might be almost full, but I'd take a chance and take the two empty rows. I doubt that anyone would be unwilling to change with you.

Haha. Don't expect to ever get money back from Thai Airways. Once they snatch away your money, you'll be lucky to get a small fraction back.

I do know people who have gotten credits from Thai on price adjustments, but you still have to pay the change fee. So if the change fee is 2000 baht and the price difference is 2000 baht, it's a wash.
