Across the Vietnam by road and railways, tips and advices most welcome!

Hey all!

I'm planning to wander through Vietnam starting from Phu Quoc, and make my way up to Hanoi by roads and railways.
There's plenty of travel blogs about train connections from HCMC all the way to Hanoi, but not so much up to date information on travelling Mekong delta area by busses and cyclos.

All the tips and advice you can share on this route is most welcome!

I'm not so much looking old ruins to goggle all day, rather something lifelike and captivating! I enjoy myself more at beach bar watching crazy shows than museums. Or trekking down a sloppy hill or diving steep reefs.

My itienary:
Starting from Ha Tien border crossing on 25th of December, making my way to Phu Quoc
25th...27th few days relaxing at Phu Quoc
27th making my way from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia, trying to catch a bus the same day towards Can Tho
28th...29th exploring Can Tho, 29th mid-day taking bus to HCMC
30th exploring HCMC, same evening taking night train to Nha Trang
31st and 1st of January chiling Nha Trang, in the evening night train to Hue
2nd of Jan at Hue, in the evening night train to Hanoi
3th of Jan - 8 of Jan exploring Hanoi and Halong Bay before leaving to Philippines

What's your opinion on my route? Too hasty? Skipping My Tho for just the reason that I would run out of time.

Any tips for travel companies at Vietnam that are reliable? Any sights that you would recommend? Any places on the route that are not so far to drop by?
Your opinion is valued! Thanks.

You must really like sitting on buses and trains! With this itinerary you will barely have time to see anything. I would have a serious rethink, starting with a realistic assessment of how long it is going to take you to get from place to place and how much usable time you will have in each destination. Travel is slow in Vietnam and especially slow in the delta.

Is there anyway you can add more time?

It is doable but too rushed. My Tho is not a good place for a visit because of being touristy (A day trip from HCMC).
