Acrobatic show in Beijing or Shanghai
 

Keen to see an acrobatic show, would we be best to see one in Beijing or Shanghai and are there any recommendations on which show is best. Do you need to book far ahead and what would you expect to pay.

I believe I read that the acrobatic performances in Shanghai are better than those in Beijing, but I could be mistaken.

If you choose to see acrobats in Beijing, one of my guidebooks had said that the best place is the Wansheng Juchang. I tried to get a ticket for a performance there while I was in Beijing in May, and learned that they hadn’t received sufficient requests for tickets to open for some time. Other performances are routinely advertised in hotels all over town. I don't believe advance reservations are usually necessary. You'll probably get a better ticket price by going to the theater than by arranging the ticket through your hotel.
