Accomodations in Tokyo
We need some help in finding accomodations in Tokyo. There are so many areas to consider. We want to spend around $200-$250 USD per night if possible or less and want a place central with some action (ie. restaurants & shops) but safe to walk around at night etc. Please help with some suggestions.
Thank you! |
You are describing just about everywhere. You could consider Hilton, Hyatt, Westin, Okura, Imperial, Keio Plaza...there are so many choices, Your budget is healthy, so you could pick a hotel that sounds good to you and check their access information to be sure it's within 5 - 10 minutes walk to train or subway.

Hi
My wife and I stayed in the Akasaka district in May last year. We stayed at New Otani and we were pleased with the location. It is only a few minutes away from Ginza, Shibuya and Shinjuku on the metro :-) I have posted a trip report with pictures and links on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/japan_tokyo.htm . Maybe you can find some useful info there. Regards Gard http://gardkarlsen.com - trip reports and pictures |
Consider the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi. It's a terrific hotel (great rooms, superb service), and the location is wonderful. You've got dozens of places to eat within a 3-minute walk -- all types of cuisine, and all types of price ranges. There are two subway lines right at the Roppongi complex, and there are some wonderful neighborhoods nearby to stroll and enjoy.
As with virtually anywhere in Japan, the area is safe to walk around at night. |
We had a wonderful stay at the Mansions at Roponggi, which have now changed their name to Oakwood Apartments Roponggi Central
http://www.oakwood.com/serviced-apar...howDetail.html You can get a lovely one bedroom apartment with every convenience close to the subway and minutes walking to loads of restaurants and shops. |
Sorry Zoey - this is not about your thread.
Gard - I found your web site to be very informative. I love it! |
