I really enjoyed Hong Phat Ancient Lodging House (I was in the "Chinese Merchant's Room".) It's very atmospheric, but probably not to everyone's taste as it doesn't have 5-star amenities; good location, though, in the old section of town.

Try Hoi An Riverside Resort and ask for a river view room. A very nice hotel with a river view to die for.If your budget is tight, An Huy Hotel is very good choice. It is a new hotel and does not have a website, but I checked out the rooms which are very nice. Ask for the the most expensive room (2 double/queen beds, corner room); costs less than $40. Good location.
