A Malaysian wants to visit North Korea from Beijing
Hi All,
I'm just getting very excited about visiting North Korea when I learned moments ago that Malaysian actually don't need a visa to visit North Korea (source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touris...rth_Korea#Visa). Now, does that mean I can just buy a ticket and hop on a train, or plane, from Beijing to Pyongyang without involving any travel agency like KoryoTours? Basically, I'm totally clueless how to proceed from knowing the fact 'Malaysia don't need visa to North Korea' to actually get myself in Pyongyang's soil. I'd greatly appreciate if y'all would provide guidance and info about that for me. Regards, Brendan |
Yes just get on a plane. Forget Koryak tours they are a terrible company.

Hanuman - really? Isn't that how to get kicked out before you get there?
Personally, I would take that kind of advice from wikipedia with a gran of salt. I'd start with the embassy website. If there is one... |
thursdaysd - me think Brendan is a cybershell and is here to promote the travel agency. What are the chance of a first time poster from Malaysia asking about going to North Korea from China?
|
Could be, but as far as I know Koryo is a reputable company unlikely to be descending to such tactics. I looked into traveling with them myself at one point, but decided I didn't want to bother with a Chinese visa on that trip (you had to start from Beijing).

Hi Guys,
I appreciate the replies so far, really. I'd like to clarify that this was a sincere post that had nothing to do with promotions of whatever. So looks like the consensus is I will have to deal with a travel agency after all. Many thanks for the replies again. Cheers, Brendan |
