Da Dong or Siji Minfu. As kja mentioned, you'll want to book ahead, otherwise you're in for a long wait.

Quanjude Roast Duck is the most famous place for Peking duck.

What's the best red wine in Paris? If the traveler is pretty ignorant of wine, they will all seem the same.

jobin makes a good point -- but the method used by Da Dong is different than that used by many restaurants in Beijing, and it's a restaurant with a range of tasty options for appetizers and desserts AND with an ambience that I enjoyed. For example, it actually used subdued lighting -- which was not common when I was in China in 2010.

We enjoyed our dinner at Da Dong. Besides the duck, I remember the especially delicious braised eggplant dish we ordered.
