5 days in Thailand - suggestions
hey folks,
planning to go to Thailand for 5 days in mid November. Is this a good time as far as weather - what can we expect?
is 5 days too long for Bangkok...any suggestions for what we can do for side trips? We would have spent 5 days prior in Maldives so looking for some adventure on the next half of the trip....
Thanks!!!
PS - im only now beginning to read up on Thailand so I know my question above is very open ended.

Five days is absolutely NOT too long in Bangkok. This year I spent 3 weeks there and have been vacationing there regularly since the 90s and still haven't done a lot of things on my to-do list. It's a great city to just savor at a slow pace...there's a lot to absorb. Happy Travels!

November is a good time to be in Thailand. Five days in Bangkok will be great. If you decide you want a day trip outside the city, you can go to Auytthya for the day. But you'll have no difficulty filling 5 days in Bangkok with sightseeing, eating, shopping, etc.

Vacation03,
If you are energetic, four days in Bangkok is enough to see the major sights.
I would suggest spending four full days in Bangkok and using the fifth day to make a day trip to Ayuthaya, as per Kathie's suggestion. Make sure that the trip to Ayuthaya also includes Bang Pa In (royal summer residence) as it's a very pretty place, and ideally, a return to Bangkok on a river cruise.
Some might suggest a day trip to see the Kwai bridge. I would warn against that. This has got to be the most overrated attraction in Thailand.
As far as weather is concerned, Bangkok will be pleasant (hot, but not oppressively hot). The rainy season should be over by then (not that it's a huge problem anyway).
Have a nice trip!!
