5 day trip in November....

Dear All,
My mother is coming to Korea for a month in November. We are thinking of hopping out of Seoul for 5-7 days while the G20 summit is here. She's happy to sightsee for part of the day, but she appreciates a terrific spa treatment and a nice dinner in the evening is a must. We will also be traveling with my 8 month old. So, maybe a smaller city with sights that can be seen in blocks of 2 hours?

Any ideas would be so welcome!

Thank you,
tech

How about Bali?

Thank you! I did consider Bangkok because we can get a direct flight. Bali might be too far with the little guy, but I will look into it. I was wondering about Angor Wat/Siem Reap?

Not a huge difference in flight time between Seoul and Bali and Seoul and SR. Non-stops are available to both.

SR/Angkor is a fascinating place but it makes for a very active trip. Really depends on how energetic your group is. I would think that viewing temples with an 8 month old would be a strain.

In Bangkok you have lots of sights plus lots of restaurants, shopping, nice hotels. In Bali you have spas, the beach, nice resorts and restaurants -- and excellent child care.

i don't think angkor is a really good or relaxing place to take the little one.....for one thing it is all outside and beastly hot, 24/7.....

a place like the marriott resort and spa in bkk would be perfect for him.....there is a nice zoo in bkk and a few other things to entertain him...

marriott has a fantastic little pool in a shaded area for him

What about Chiang Mai? My hesitation with Bangkok is the size of the city. I think we would like something a bit smaller. From my brief research it looks like there are some resorts just outside of Chiang Mai that could arrange tours, cooking classes, spa treatments and have decent restaurants.

thoughts or suggestions? thank you, t
