$5.00 thai massages anyone?
Does anyone out there have any experiences in Bankok and other areas of thailand when It comes to massages? I heard that the thai , outside the hotel spas only charge 5.00 for an hourly non sexual massage. How doe you find them once you've landed in bangkok or other areas of thailand..let's say at a beachfront resort?.....

I get a massage almost every day I'm in Thailand. There are many places that you can get a massage more cheaply than in the hotel spa. However, do note that the massages in the storefront places on the street are generally not as good as the ones you get at Wat Pho School of Massage. In the storefronts, the masseurs often seem distracted. You can call the WP schollof massage and have the masseurs come to your hotel room.
At many of the beaches, there are women on the beach that will provide a massage. However, these are generally not top notch. While relaxing, they are not as good as the WP masseurs. The hotel spas are usually very good, but pricey. There are some spas, especially in BKk that are very good, not connected with a hotel and moderately priced. Make sure you get a two hour massage. the extra time is definitely worth the money. |
massages and massage places are everywhere around thailand....you will not want for places to go....the prices vary from very cheap to very expensive....some but not all are you get what you pay for....cleanliness is one thing to be on the lookout for...
