4 days in southern Honshu

Hi All, this is my first post in Fodor's! Two of us are going to Japan in early April. Most of our itinerary is in place. We depart Japan from Osaka Kansai so want to stay in southern area of Honshu at the end of the vacation. We'll already have spent a week in Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima. But for the last 4 days we have no plans and are open for ideas. We do like walking, cycling, rural and OK for tatami sleeping! We'll use public transport. Suggestions please!

Have you been to Koya-san? What about Kurashiki? Miyajima? Okayama?
