4 1/2 hour layover at Narita...what can I go to kill time?

Hey again fellow travelers:

On my way to Seoul in August, I will be stopping in Tokyo Narita Airport for a 4 1/2 hour layover until my flight to Seoul. What do you guys suggest I could do during that time? I know it's probably not feasible to go into town, but I would like to get something productive done in that short time. Is there anywhere to eat or shop not in the airport?

Depending on your arrival time...you might have time to go to Narita town. Boso no Mura is a nice open air museum or Edo period industry and houses that we enjoyed. About 30 minutes by taxi from the airport, a couple of hours to look around and try a few things hands on.

You'll need to be back at Narita no later than 2hours before departure to Korea though, which doesn't give you much time to work with. 4 1/2 hours total isn't that long at all. You might just use a lounge/have some food/sit in a massage chair and not worry about the time. It's hotter than anything in August anyway...we go to Bangkok for relief.

I'd just enjoy a nice meal and some shopping at the airport! You really only have 2 hours till you need to be inside the airport security.

I second Lcuy suggestion. Go past passport control and get a transit visa and just eat and shop around the landside of the terminal - more shops and restaurant outside.;
