35 Minute Turn Around time Enough?!
We may be flying EVA air from SEA to BKK via Taipei. If we did, our layover is only 35 minutes. Is that enough time to transfer planes?! That makes me a bit nervous.
Thanks! |
I would say absolutely not. JM2C.

ask eva what their allowable time is??
|
I would say no ways, the official minimum connection is 1 hr at Taipei. According to my trusty OAG Guide the Eva flight departs TPE at 1820 hrs, the Eva flight from Bangkok arrives 1655, so that would be ok, I don't know if those flights have changed but I doubt Eva would do a booking with such a short time.
Just call Eva and ask them and double check the flight times. |
Cancel all that!! Except that the connection time is supposed to be minimum 1 hr.
Sorry I though it was BKK to SEA. I can sea Eva departing SEA at 0255 arriving TPE 0750, yes, I can see the 0830 departure to Bangkok, now, except Monday and Friday they are showing an 0920 flight, which should be fine, next one ( except Wed/fri/Sun ) is 1115, so, any day except Mon or Fri, if you arrive Monday there is the 1115, but if you are arriving on a Friday, ah, looks a problem. I would give them a call in SEA and ask them direct. Maybe the times have changed or whatever. This is the 1-800 number plus their local Seattle office: 1-800-695-1188 1-206-242-4382 |
Forget that 1115, it's a pm!
|
EVA gave us that flight info over the phone AND told us that connection time would be no problem, that is why I wanted to check with you all.
I don't think we will chance it. I don't want to spend all day in the Tapei airport! We were hoping to fly EVA Evergreen Deluxe but it looks like we are stuck with Korean Air coach. :-( At least Korean air has a seat pitch of 33-44". |
What about asking them for the 0920 flight if you are not arriving on a Monday or Friday.

EuroTraveller...
What a coincidence. I was just asking the same question! After James' comment I looked at the schedules at evaair.com and found the 9:20 departure from TPE to BKK. What a relief. No worry about the connection, plus we'll get to stretch our legs for a little while! Out of curiosity, when will you be leaving Seattle? We're going in January. |
Love2, we will be traveling in Feb.
We depart on Feb. 3rd from PDX at about 6:30 or so and arrive on Sunday morning Feb. 5th. We return through SEA on Feb 26th and arrive back in PDX at about 3 something. We have 21 nights for this trip! How about you? We have decided to fly Evergreen Deluxe on EVA. On our way we fly through SFO and on the way back we go through Seattle. How long will you be in Thailand? are you flying on EVA? |
Yes, we now have tickets on EVA Evergreen. But we're going earlier than expected because suddenly the 'good' price for Evergreen Deluxe seats jumped nearly $1,000. So we're leaving SEA on Dec. 29 and returning on Jan 17.
Our itinerary has changed as well. We'll probably be going to Phuket immediately, which means an even longer day! But it's not final yet. I wonder what New Year's Eve in Phuket is like? :) Or if perhaps we should spend the first night in Bangkok, then continue on the next day (Dec. 31) The challenges continue! |
prices in both places will be very high...in bkk if you stayed on the river you would have the benefit of the wonderful fireworks, but probably there is something similar in phuket
|
Phuket is very lively at New Year, especialy Patong, lots of parties, crowds in the streets, fireworks etc.
