3 Questions on Thailand and Cambodia
Going to Thailand and Cambodia in January and have 3 questions:
1. Is it better to get a visa for Cambodia prior to going or at the airport? On the embassy website it asks that you mail them your passport which I do not like doing. However, I do not want to be delayed at the airport to get one. 2. Any recomendations for tailors in Bangkok to make a men's suit? 3. Your choice for car rentals in Phuket. Thanks David J |
For question #1, your wait to get a visa will depend on where your seat is on the plane to SR. If you're at the front, it will go quickly. More slowly if you're at the back. The visa line mimics the exit from the plane. Personally, I would wait and get it on arrival.
For question #2, it depends on where your staying in Bangkok. You might use the search engine on this forum to look at past posts. There have been many tailor recommendations. Match one to your hotel. Remember, it will take several trips to the tailor, three or four to make sure everything fits like you want. |
Regarding #1, it's so straightforward getting the visa on arrival. I believe the vast majority of people do it this way. As Gpanda says, try get a seat close to the exit of the plane, and that way you'll be near the front for getting your visa.

You can get an e-visa for Cambodia. I just got mine. :)

Regarding Gpanda's advice about plane seating and the visa line: Remember to check on whether you exit the plane fore or aft. Bangkok Airways planes have the exit at the rear. I didn't know that and selected a seat up front with the result that I was at the end of the visa line.

Our hotel always recommends Pure Car rent as they give very good service, are fully insured and have excellent cars. In fact one of our guests today commented he's very happy with their professional attitude.
