3-4 day trip from Hong Kong

We are interested in a 3-4 day excursion from Hong Kong. Willing to fly but prefer a direct non stop flight about 3 hrs or less. Moderate budget. Interested in natural beauty, culture, relaxation, history. Any suggestions?

Places I'd consider would include Siem Reap, Cambodia for the temples of Angkor, Luang Prabang, Laos (but I expect there is not a non-stop from Hong Kong), Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia would be another place to consider, but again, you'd probably have to change planes.

What about Bali? It may be a bit over three hours, but I know there are non-stops from Hong Kong.

I'm going to Chiang Mai, Thailand, direct from HKG. Wash some elephants, spiritualize at some temples, eat some great food, play some lovely golf.

There is (or was) a direct to Penang on AirAsia. I actually think you could do a combination of Shanghai and Hangzhou, or a different Mainland China trip - Yangshuo with a night or two at Long Ji if you like to hike would be nice. To get to Yangshou, you can fly to Guilin, which is about an hour and a half from HK. The classic Chinese karst scenery is gorgeous, and it's a nice place to spend a few days.

Personally I didn't think Hanoi was at all relaxing and have much to offer in the way of natural beauty, but Halong Bay is stunning. I wouldn't spend 4 days in Hanoi but a combination of Hanoi and Halong Bay would be nice.

I second the Bali recommendation. It has everything you listed and is about a 5 hour flight from HK.

If you can fly Air Asia to Penang, do it. Stay in Georgetown (I highly recommend the E&O) and enjoy the fabulous hawker food.

While we enjoyed our week in Hanoi, I wouldn't call Hanoi relaxing!

You can visit Manila and nearby city like Tagaytay, Bulacan, Bataan, Cavite and Laguna for 3 days. There are lots of low cost airlines flying from Honkong to Manila which you could select like Cebu Pacific Air, Tiger and Airphil Express.

You can also fly directly from Hongkong to Palawan where you could relax and enjoy the nature with adventure.

Have a look at some photos of nice places in https://www.google.com/#q=tourist+spots+in+philippines
