2012 How long to get Myanmar Visa?
I realize this thread has been discussed previously but not since Myanmar has recently been inundated with visitors.
We leave Jan 3 for a two month trip to Thailand with a side trip to Myanmar. We need to apply for a Myanmar Visa as well as a 60 day double entry Tourist Visa for Thailand. I’m very concerned about how long it will take to get the Myanmar Visa because the embassy is so busy now. Is ten working days a realistic estimate for Myanmar Visa? We need to get our passports back so we can get our 60 day Thai tourist Visa’s. We plan to spend our first month in Northern Thailand. For peace of mind should we wait until we get to Chiang Mai and use a local Travel Agency to take care of the Myanmar Visa? CNX P&P TRAVEL says they can do it, 5 - 7 working days and more expensive than the NYC Permanent Mission.

It will very likely take longer than 10 working days for your Myanmar visa in the US. You may well be better off getting your visa after you are in Thailand, either on your own in Bangkok (one day service available, 3 days is standard service) or via an agent in Chiang Mai.

We also live in NYC and got our visas in five working days. We got the forms off the web, had our photos, and dropped off passports and forms at the Consul on October 7 and had them back October 12.

i got my pre-arranged visa with this agent. total cost was $70.
$30 for the visa, $40 service fee.
pretty expensive service fee, but it was worth it in my case.
would be better to go to the embassy if nearby."
