2 layovers in Singapore
In October I have a 15 hr. layover from 1 am- 4:40 pm in Singapore enroute to Denpasar and another 19 hr. from 3:35 pm to 10 am next day on the way back. Anyone have any suggestions for hotel and what to see in a short amount of time. Thanks in advance
Never been to Singapore except in the airport.

... well, 'layovers' in sweet Singapore ... (have always warmed this Asia business traveller's heart.)
Don't know your budget/airline, but if you're flying 'up front'(or have a certain SIA PPS status - 'lowly than thou', in my case, but I'll still take it) with that sensational Singapore Airlines, do consider those SilverKris lounges at charming Changi airport. I never 'tire' of SQ's SKLs, and yes, personal/professional reasons, to be sure.
(And would suggest you enquire over on a most refined 'frequent' traveller community, SQTalk.)
As for hotels, my all-time cherished Singaporean masseuse is still providing late-night, in-massage treatments at that Four Seasons property, and suspect some colleagues (and loved ones) and I will soon be back at the FS for those F1 racing machines and corporate 'dollars'. (Sweet dreams - and do remember your earplugs.)
Wherever you stay, savour your Singaporean lays.

I love the Museum of Asian Civilization and the Orchid Garden in the Botanical garden. There are plenty of other things to do and see - and of course, there is the food!
See what kinds of bargains you can find on hotels. If you are flying Singapore Air they typically have some excellent prices on hotels. If not, check out agoda.com
There are many wonderful hotels in SIngapore. One of my criteria for a singapore hotel is easy access to the MRT.

la, Is your time in Singapore a positive or a negative? If the latter then maybe you should look into the cost of taking earlier/later connecting flights between Singapore and Denpasar. Rates are quite low now (especially with a stop in Jakarta) and the cost may not be much more than you would spend hanging around Singapore for 15/19 hours. Take a look at Lion Air or Garuda.
If, on the other hand, the Singapore time is a plus for you there are lots of options for moderate places to stay. I like Traders Hotel for location but there are several others that are less expensive. the Crowne Plaza at the airport is good because then you can leave your belongings there while you sightsee. Tourism is down in Singapore; rates should reflect this.
Aside from just wandering in some of the ethnic areas, I like the night safari and the botanical gardens a lot. These have the advantage of being at their best during "off" hours: the night safari is open until midnight and the botanical gardens are wonderful just before sunrise.

Askoksena: First you are a trip!!! tee hee Second, I Am flying Singapore air but in coach
BUT does an AMEX Platinum get me into that lounge?
RHK- Actually am in the States, have been about 7 weeks, exhaustively criss crossing them. takin care of business, heading to Bali for 5-6 weeks for same and hopefully back in Italia by years end ,I miss it so.
Gpanda- an aloud laugh on that, still giggling
Kathie- I've seen a bunch of places between 150-200 US and for a night, on either end that's ok, just trying to decide on one. I'm kind of thinking maybe I should see if Singapore air will give me a layover for a few days for a couple extra bucks. Not sure though cause I got a super deal LAX-DENPASAR for 740 RT all in!!!!!
Marmot- Totally a plus!!!!!!!! Never been, really would like to check it out. Will check out those hotels
Thanks again all

LOL, Narita!! 2 stop-overs but , after a year in Italy and starting up a new company I had to cut costs where I could. So yes, it's taking me 2 days to get to Bali
Convenience is ok, just want a few hrs. shut eye and someplace where to leave my bags and take a shower ,so I can then see as much as I can of Singapore.
