10 hours in Tokyo
 

Hi everyone. I have a 10 hour lay over in Tokyo on my way home from Vietnam. I arrive in the morning and take off at night so I would like to go into Tokyo for the day and see some sights. I was told to take the express train from the airport into the city, get off at Central City, and to walk around the area where the Four Seasons Hotel is located. Beyond that I don't know too much. All suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

What are your interests?

I am interested in seeing anything cultural and/or good shopping areas. My plan as of now is to go to Takashimaya and the Imperial Gardens. Do I have time to get to the Skytree too? 10 hours includes getting to and from the airport.

You may purchase a Roundtrip version of SUICA & NEX card for 5,500Yen at the airport's JR office, and use it to ride Nerita Express train to Tokyo station and back, as well as using the SUICA card to ride metro/subway in Tokyo. See

Narita Express is reservation only. You'll have to tell the ticket agent which station you want to get off, so he may assign you seat in a car that is heading your destination.

You may return the SUICA card at a JR office in the airport for a refund of the balance minus a 210Yen fee.

Get a Tokyo guide book to read what you want to see, where the closest metro/subway station is etc, then you'll be on your way.

what day will you be in tokyo? that would make a difference if you want to do skytree. i went there on a saturday, very long lines, so i left.
