10 hours in Suvarnabhumi Airport?
Due to a hideous connection from Vietnam, I'm facing a 10 hour (10pm - 8am) wait in Suvarnabhumi Airport.
I'm finding conflicting reports on various sites; anyone know whether there are short stay hotel facilities? I'd really like to try and grab a couple hours sleep! |
Inside the Suvarnabhumi Airport, there are available on 'day room" in 2nd and 3rd floor with attached bath/toilet, tv, airconditioning, etc.. Also that you can choose the room either for 4hrs or 6 hrs or 8 or 10hrs depending on your requirement. It is located at the farther end of the floor and quiet too.

It's worth noting that an 8 hour stay in the transit hotel could well cost you more than a room at the Novotel across the street.
Also the transit hotel is on the 3rd and 4th floors. |
I have a short overnight layover as well- (about 6 hrs total). To use the dayrooms, do you need reservations or can you just show up that night?

If you want a room, you need to make a reservation.

I had an 8 hour layover from BKK to Siem Reap and because I heard that to show up at the dayhotel without a reservation was risky, I stayed at the Novatel. They have transport vans right outside the baggage pick up door and it takes about 5 minutes by the van to get there. It was more pricey than the day hotel because I needed more than 4 hours but it was gorgeous and I managed to get some sleep in a luxurious room, extremely quiet. CAVEAT-- their reservation system is still screwed up so if you make an on-line reservation, keep all your paperwork and conf. # because you could get there and find out they can't find your reservation. They told me this themselves. I tried to contact the dayhotel via email and never got a response so I didn't dare risk that. So you'll pay a little more, may have to stick your paperwork under their noses (but they are wonderfully polite) but you will get a great room and peace and quiet for the big $$. I would stay there again.

Does anyone know how to contact the short-stay hotel for reservations? I'm finding a lot of conflicting advice on the internet as well.

Good luck, I kept trying with no luck. If you have success, I'll keep the info in case I get to go back to SEA.
