Yikes !!! Fuel surchages on flights to Europe this spring/summer.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Thinking of spending a weekend in Paris this spring? Think again.
The cost of travel to Europe has increased exponentially, mostly due to surcharges and fees which can add $500 or more to the price of round-trip airfare. .........(more) http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/22/pf/a...n=money_latest |

cheapoair.com farecompare.com Fuel prices are going up Some like BA.com added fuel surcharges long ago but many have not still deals out there that are good. CO and AA.com multistops still pretty good for me. from under $500 all in each way... |
I feel the sticker shock too, but with price of crude being $110+ it is the new reality. I am optimistic that oil prices will drop since there are no supply issues, just speculators driving it up as they did in 2008. But when that will happen--who knows??

Yes, prices are high. Yet, for some peak summer flts to Europe I've now seen that over the past few weeks prices dropped a couple of hundred dollars, from about $1,500 to $1,300, for non stops to major capitals. Still high, but at least they went in the right direction.
