Wow! Airline tix prices are making it hard to go where you wanna go.
May 2007 I paid $570 for Seattle to San Jose, Costa rica.
March 2008 I paid $700 for the same.
June 2009 I used FF miles because I wouldn't be able to afford going otherwise! Cost for the flight I booked is $1,144.00!
All the above are the same flights/times each trips. I realize slightly different times of year...but wow!

What dates? Kind of early to book for next June.
You can go in Oct or Nov for under $500. Or beginning of January for $700. (i picked on/near first two wednesday). Feb $740, Mar $780, Apr, May, Jun for $820.
But it is a good use of miles for any of those fares, imo.

I know it's early to book for next June, but we're renting a house that books up a year in advance and also knew I wanted to use FF miles so it was ok. I was just curious at the cost. If I were paying the $ I would be more flexible to get a better price. And no, not Delta, but AA. AA usually offers the best prices and shortest flights from SEA to SJO. I really hate having more than one layover or taking red-eyes. Continental and Delta usually come up 2nd and 3rd.
October is the rainiest time of year in CR so I would avoid it unless spending most of my time in Puerto Viejo, where it's dry season Sep-Nov.
