Why won't Kayak let me fly into Dulles?
 

Researching weekend trip Boston - IAD (Dulles). As usual, started on Kayak - but all results lead with "we have found another airport close to your..." and gave me fares to DCA. I did not check "nearby airports" nor in the little boxes is any airport other than IAD checked. I do not want to go to DCA. I want to go to IAD. At least I found that United and JetBlue are the only carriers on this route, so I will go directly to their websites.

Screaming at the computer screen that I do not want to go to DCA did not seem to change search results.

Are you flying out of Logan?

yes - and destination is western VA, so Dulles is preferable.

That's weird.....I just put in from BOS to IAD, random October dates, and got several fares to DCA (without the box for nearby airports checked). The ones to IAD are on the second page.........least expensive is Delta, with a stop at JFK.

I put in BOS-IAD and that's all I got.

Try it on Expedia?

I had a problem on the Kayak mobile app a few months ago and reported it to Kayak. (maybe since IAD is a UA hub, this is a UA issue?) They couldn't duplicate the problem, but I was looking for non-stop flights between SFO and BOS and UA non-stop flights just didn't show up. So, I think it may be a problem with Kayak.

I should clarify that maybe it is a problem with Kayak displaying United Airlines flights based on my experiences.
