Where to check flight on time record
Hello,
Where can I check the on time record for flights? I tried the search function but I am not having any luck. We are leaving St. Louis 10/10 at 11:05 am on AA flight #4722 that should get into JFK at 2:40 pm. We then leave on Maxjet at 8:15 pm. I think I have allowed enough time for connections but now am getting a bit worried. Should we consider getting flight insurance and if so where from? Thanks for any help. Sandy |
I can't help you with the web-sites (you can do a google search) but you have 5 1/2 hours between flights - that's more then enough time to make your connection at JFK.
Keep in mind that "on time" records, like any statistics don't mean too much when applying the data to a specific flight in the future. For example, if one flight arrives "on-time" and one flight arrives an hour late all you really know is 50% of those flights weree delayed and the average delay was 30 minutes. Regardless of the statistics with 5 1/2 hours between flights you have plenty of time. Even if your inbound flight is 2 hours late (a rarity) you still have 3 1/2 hours before your next flight - bring a good book as you'll have plenty of airport time at JFK. |
Some websites you can use:
flightstats.com have on-time record for last 2 months. The government have data up to July 2007: http://www.bts.gov/programs/airline_...me_statistics/ Or to glance through take off and landing time of a specific flight on many days: www.flightaware.com |
Here's data for your flight on flightaware:
flightaware.com/live/flight/EGF722/history It's a flight operated by American Eagle. On various databases, if you can't find 4722, try 722. |
RoamsAround: Good insight and helpful to hear.
rkkwan: Thanks for the websites and for taking the time to go the extra step and list the flight I am worrying about. I know the risk of booking on two different airlines and thus the concern if we wouldn't make our MaxJet flight. Sandy |
