I went into British Airways website and saw a very good special rate on a flight from US to London. Now, I can't access the page at all. Can't be accessed from England either. Why is that?

Try Orbitz! Fares are always lowest there, even for British Air to Timbuktu! I trust them more than my wife.

No, Vic, I don't want to try Orbitz. Thanks, bt I want to go directly to BA. I don't trust anybody, including your wife. What does she do, go snooping on each and every thread on Fodors to see what you think of her? You need to work on your marriage.

Oh, and in case there are any spellcheckers running around loose, I'm correcting "bt" to read "but."

I gave up and went through my travel agency. The fare was much higher than what I saw posted on the BA website. I was contacted four days later by my T?A saying that the fare had gone down by $200, and that she would re-issue my ticket. Will they keep doing that till it reaches the minimum fare? And, what if it goes up? What's the deal?

Travel agencies can cancel tickets issued within one week for no or little penalty if the fare goes down. You are protected if the fare goes up...no re issuing. If the fare goes down again, after one week, your agent can request a 'downgrade' from BA and reissue at the lower fare. If your agent has a good rep with BA there may be no penalty. Looks like your agent is looking after you. Lucky woman.

Most airlines let you exchange<BR>a ticket when the fare goes down, as long as seats are available for sale at that price, and you meet all the rules of the new fare.<BR><BR>I've seen it happen up to 3 times on one ticket. Very rare--passenger booked way ahead. <BR><BR>Doesn't always work with web site bookings or consolidator fares.
