What's the best day to book tickets online?

I read this story and wasn't sure if the advice was true: http://www.simplethriftyliving.com/w...-book-flights/

Does anyone know if this is the cheapest day to book airfare online? Anyone have a story that proves this right?

There is no best day. Some patterns may seem guess-worthy for domestic US travel but good luck finding any for international flights. These articles are produced by journalists with nothing else to fill space (I know). The giveaway is that no specific sources are cited.

Please note the article said Tue/Wed are the cheapest days to fly, not the cheapest days
to book or buy tickets.

The technical term for the "facts" portrayed in the article is "baloney."

Does not answer your question, but, book directly with the airline, using internet is fine. That is, do not book using Orbitz, Travelocity, CheapTickets, etc. Don't ask why, do some searching this forum.

Yes, book directly with the airline, and check back with the airline frequently for price changes. A ticket that priced out at $1400 a week ago and two weeks ago (checked prices mid-week) priced at $700 yesterday. The usual "baloney" advice is never to book on a weekend because prices are higher. That was obviously "baloney" in regard to this ticket.
