What would you done in this case?
 

Last month my younger daughter (18) took a flight from Chicago to FLL and she was suprised to find during cruising altitude an hour after departure, her small pocketknife in the backpack he took in the cabin and did not know she had it there. Curiosly, she passed all the checkpoints at the airport and was not noticed. With all the terrorist scare going on, she was also worried to be mistaken for one and went to the toilet and disposed it on the waste instead of giving it to the flight attendants. After landing it was an another funny anecdote, but she had a big scare! What would you have done?<BR>Just curious...

If you were to catch a connecting flight and have to go through the inspections again, then you did the correct thing to avoid a hassle. You don't want the idiots at the airport giving you a bad time.<BR><BR>If this was your last flight (no commecting flight), then you could of just kept the knife and kept quiet, since you passed all of the secrity check points and there would be no other checks.

Probably did the right thing. We had paper masking tape taken off us in Mexico (used for sealing up bags) as this was a regulation - perhaps we could have wrapped up the crew. The really stupid thig is that there are so many airports where you can buy Swiss army knives once you have checked in and are through in duty free- and they will then be confiscated - you will not get it back -if found. Perhaps its the shops combining with customs guy for a little racket!

She probably did the right thing. Last thing she needs is the plane surrounded by F-16's for such a harmless thing.

Once you get everything taken away from you and board the plane, try ordering some wine. They still give you a little GLASS bottle. Gee, don't you think that could be used as a weapon? My husband and I were lucky enough to fly first class (AA) for our anniversary last summer. Plastic silverware, but glass glasses. It's as if the people who came up with &quot;Dude Where's My Car?&quot; are making up the security rules.

Work for the airline, thing to do was to just keep it until you got off the plane, if you were connecting, drop it off at the nearest ticket counter, we use to mail them home for you,(not now) and if last stop, you were okay. Xray was probably not set high enough to see thru some things in the BP. Now, if someone found it in the trash when cleaning, suspicious activity thoughts begin!!!<BR>
