What happened to Maxjet?

All flights have been canceled yesterday 7/5 and today 7/6, according to maxjet.com. No record of all flights on flightaware.com either?

What happened to Maxjet? How come it's not in the news?

Maybe they've thrown in the towel early?

rkkwan Jul 6th, 2007 01:33 PM

No, don't think so. I have another thread on the Europe board now. Seems like both of their 767-200s have serious mechanical issues.

But I won't be too surprised if they've flown in the towel. Eos seem to be picking up enough corporate contracts and are expanding their NY-London offering. And there are now Silverjet and L'Avion in the all-premium trans-Atlantic market.

LH is increasing all-business flights flown by Privatair, and Virgin is saying they're looking into the market. It'll be tough.

It appears they are still scheduled on the Las Vegas leg. They've had serious mechanical problems.

Some people I met in London were raving about the service they got on Maxjet. Sounds now like they're in trouble. That's a shame.

Having mechanical problems is one thing. Canceling scheduled flights to fly a private charter is unacceptable. Why run a schedule airline then? Why not just do business charter?

rkkwan...i've bene meaning to ask you. what may i ask was your career? clearly aviation orientated, ;-) but i was wondering because you seem to be a particular expert on cdg.

sorry for the typos...been/oriented.

rkkwan Jul 13th, 2007 07:29 AM

Nope. My job is totally unrelated to travel. At least not my current job. I just love flying and traveling.

oh i see! you seem to have affection for paris then as well, just like me. i'll share that i have previously worked for their national airline. ;-)
