what do airlines do when you lose a ticket?
I can't believe this. I booked 6 tickets to hawaii on travelocity and the airline (united/aloha) required paper tickets -- I haven't had that in years! I received all of them but it was months ago -- I am missing one that was mailed separately. Will the airline replace the ticket? Travelocity is zero help. Anyone go through this before?
You have to repurchase the ticket and fill out a lost ticket application.
If the 1st ticket is not used they usually refund the 2nd ticket price (usually higher because closer in) within 90 days.
|
I'd sure look everywhere for the ticket......maybe you stuck it in with the existing tickets.

The above poster is correct..you have to fill out a Lost Ticket Application AND buy another ticket at the same time for the "going" rate.

Procedures differ between airlines. Some are as above. But British Air simply charges a $70 reissue fee.
|
Why don't you just call the airlines? These ta's don't know what they are talking about. Now or ever.
|
YOU are incorrect. The above info is true. The traveler now must pay the going rate, will be refunded, will take longer than 90 days. If by some miracle the airlines have the ticket # , they just might issue a new ticket for a fee, and might not require the lost ticket report. It just depends. What do you do anyway? I am sure you know all the ins and outs of a travel agency. The person who lost this ticket, I would be glad to help if you want my email, even though you booked on travelocity. Have some compassion people. I like to help people, and this poster has a real problem and needs some help. Hawaiibound, do you need some help?

Please speak for yourself, not others, when you state what other people do or do not know. Are you omnipotent? Why don't you find out what the poster wants to know and post an answer. It just takes a wee bit of time Peter.

With the advent of the Eticket there is no ticket to lose. Other than certain interline and international tickets the Eticket is becoming universal.

Believe me guys, I would have LOVED an e-ticket!! I was told by Travelocity that e-tickets were not allowed with the reservation, no idea why. I am on room no 3, I am determined to find the ticket. Meanwhile, I called United, they told me me they will charge me 100 bucks and replace it, but hopefully I will talk them out of it or find the ticket. Thanks for your help.

Well--100 is better than not going. Look at the bright side, right?

DId it get stuck in your bills payable file? Or mail box? Desk drawer? Inside a magazine?
|
SEEEEE, Peter, I was right and I am a travel agent. Hawaiibound will only have to pay $100 fee. You're the ignorant one.
|
Aloha does not participate in e-tickets
with United, that's why you had to have
a paper ticket.

The Lost Ticket Application fee is $100. If United can pull up your reservation, and
if Travelocity stored the fare, you MAY
be able to get a replacement without buying a new tickte.

HOWEVER, if it is a bulk ticket, which wholesalers often use ( meaning the fare does not show on the tickt ) then you will have to buy a new ticket and wait at least 120 days for a refund.

End of debate guys, I FOUND THE TICKET!!! It had been shoved into a bucket of documents that have nothing to do with travel, go figure. Thank you so much for your advice, although I hope I never need it. :-)
Aloha!
|
I knew you would find them . Not that I have ever lost anything (wink wink).

Have fun in Hawaii!!!
