weight allowance

We will be flying Chicago to Papeete in the summer and I am unsure about the weight allowance per checked bag. Is it two bags at 50 lbs. per? Thank you. :-)

JAGIRL Apr 28th, 2006 01:13 PM

what airline?

jacketwatch Apr 28th, 2006 01:22 PM

We won't find that out until 30 days B4 the trip because we purchased the air with the cruise. I think it will be either Air Tahiti Nui or Air New Zealand.

jacket.....that info can be found on the airline's web sites.
((D))8-)

I know. Its more fun to post. :-)

JAGIRL Apr 29th, 2006 03:31 PM

well...in that case...I guess eager Fodorite could volunteer to run along and look up the info for jacketwatch...

jacketwatch Apr 29th, 2006 03:46 PM

No one has to look it up for me dear. The idea here is to see if anyone knows and can help. Thats all. And thanks. :-)

Hi Jacketwatch

On Air NZ it is 2*50 lbs. Don't know about air Tahiti Nui.

If you are off to a beach I cannot think what clothes you would be taking with you. How much does a pair of swimming shorts weigh?

jacketwatch May 4th, 2006 03:09 AM

Kiwi: Actually we have to pack for a 10 day cruise. 100 lbs. should be enough. :D BTW are you from NZ and have you been to FP? ? If so have you seen Fiji bitter there? Its a terrific brew but its not available in the US. Cheers, Larry

Kiwi_acct May 4th, 2006 06:10 PM

Hi Larry

Yes I am from NZ.

I have not been to FP, so I do not know about Fiji Bitter availability there, you may be stuck with Kronenburg or some other French brand. Not that being stuck with Kronenburg would be all that bad.

As far as the South Pacific is concernedI have only been to Fiji (a few times) and the Cook Islands.

Must admit though, I prefer Fiji Gold to Fiji bitter. But on a hot day who would say no to a cold fiji baby (Stubby of Fiji bitter)

I see now why you need the luggage allowance. Would not do to sit at the Captain's table wearing a Sarong and Jandals (Flip Flops). Though it may certainly liven up the conversation.

Good luck on the hunt for the finest of amber liquids. Something, as a New Zealander, which is very close to my heart.

Thanks Kiwi: If I can get a Fiji Amber I'll hoist one to ya. :-)

jacketwatch May 5th, 2006 04:21 AM

I should add: and if I can't then I'll hoist whatever is on hand. :-)
