Washington Dulles 6 hours

Soooo. Have a 6 hour layover. Any ideas on what to do? Can I get my hair done?

There is a branch of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Dulles, with an IMAX theater.

The times involved in the layover could have an impact on what you do.

E.g., with a 5 1/2 hour layover beginning at 5:15 p.m., we were able to get to the Inn at Little Washington for dinner and make our continuing flight easily.

charrosrider- I would second the Udvar Hazy Center. If you have even the slightest interest in things that fly, the Udvar Hazy Center is just a mile from Dulles. For just a dollar or two U.S., there is a bus that will take you right to the entrance. It's out the door from baggage claim and should be a lot more fun than getting your hair done! The Center is free and you can spend a few hours there. When you return, use the airport's new quick security spot. While Dulles has the premium security entrance that folks pay for, the have also installed a Black Diamond Lane (yes, the same name as the toughest ski runs) that I've used several times with just carry-on and I've never waited a minute to get through security even on Friday afternoons. It's located next to baggage claim 7 and will allow you easy re-entry.

Is this for a completely domestic itinerary, or will you be on an earlier international flight?
