WAS-MAD, then BCN-WAS
Hi,
This may be a stupid question, but here it goes: I am thinking about flying to Madrid from DC, but then leaving from Barcelona back to DC at the end of the trip. How do I get the major travel sites like travelocity or orbitz to price this without giving me super expensive one-way ticket prices? I think you'd call this open-jaw, but I can't figure out how to get "normal" prices, as I've heard it should cost about the same as going round trip WAS-MAD-WAS. Thanks in advance for any help! I just used the multi-city search on travelocity and priced out WAS-MAD,BCN-WAS open jaw and it came out exactly the same price as WAS-MAD roundtrip on an arbitrary set of dates next March. Don't price it as 2 one ways but use the multi-city function instead.

Most of those sites have a "multi-city" function, which is what you want; but they may to give you the "open-jaw" price in most cases. Worth calling the airline directly to ask what's possible.

Thanks, I think I just didn't go far enough in the process.
When I went to the first "select flight" page, it said "oneway from" $493. But if you keep going, that is the final price for the r/t. I can get cheaper r/t WAS-MAD-WAS, so I'll have to see how my itinerary develops. Thanks for the help! Karen |
