Wally makes a big mistake in Dublin. Any recourse

I took the double decker bus to the Dublin airport (Do not take a taxi. With the traffic, the five mile journey took almost an hour) for my 4:25 p.m. flight. I arrived at the airport at 2:00 p.m. I did not see my Click Airlines flight anywhere. I asked and found out there was a flight change and the flight went out at 9:00 a.m. No one notified me of this seven hour time change.

I walked over to Aer Lingus and purchased a one way ticket for about $300 and got to Barcelona 2 hours later.

I called Click Airlines and they told me to call Iberia since I booked it on their website. I called Iberia and they offered to get me out on Sunday morning but not Saturday. Since I would need hotels in Dublin for two nights and would loose my reservations for two nights in Barcelona, I think I made the right move by not flying Sunday.

I am so mad at myself for not checking the flight on the Click Airlines website, especially since I booked it back in February.

But is there not a rule that says if an airline makes a 3 hour plus time change, you can cancel the fight? What about after the flight?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Was the original Click ticket bought as part of a larger itinerary (multiple flights) with Iberia?

Wally, some airlines have policies in place in regards to schedule changes (I don't know wha Click's is). Did you reconfirm your flights on Click a day or two before the scheduled flight? It's certainly annoying that you were not aware of the time changes. Reasonably speaking, there should have been some attempt on the pat of the airlines to get in contact with you about the flight changes though.

Sounds like lots of flights are getting moved around in Dublin lately. I got woken up the other night by Delta calling to inform me that my flight was moved up by a few hours. Unfortunately, they had a wrong number. Hopefully, the person found out in time.

No, the Click ticket was just one ticket purchased. Not a group of tickets.

No, I did not confirm the ticket. I had no problem with the first flight with them from Barcelona to Vienna for only $35 USD. Not bad in my opinion.

Then I'd call your credit card company and dispute the charge. They didn't notify you of the change. At a minimum, you should get a credit for use towards a future ticket.
