US Airways Club Question

If one has used miles to upgrade a ticket to domestic first class, does that entitle the passenger free entry into the Club on the day he is flying? My spouse tried to gain entry this afternoon on such a ticket, and was denied entry. Your quick response is appreciated. Thanks.

You are not entitled to use the US Airways club (or any other US airline's club) if you are traveling in domestic F, regardless whether it's an award ticket or $$ ticket.

Only way to have access is to be a club member or to have Gold status with a non-US Star Alliance airline. (Hmmm, maybe you're allowed access if you're UA or CO gold-level, I;m not sure. Absolutely allowed if you're LH, NH, etc. Gold level).

Star Gold status gets you into *A clubs only when flying internationally.

Star Gold status gets you into *A clubs only when flying internationally.

You are mistaken. Star Gold status on any non-US carrier gives you access to any US Airways lounge (at least any lounge that has a *G sign, which includes all the ones I'm familiar with) as long as you have a same-day boarding pass. Doesn't matter if you're flying international or domestic, doesn't matter if you're flying economy or first class.
