United's Business Class Flat Bed Seats

UAL's site says they are will be refurbishing their planes to the new "flat bed" for business class for flights out of Dulles. We're booked on a Dulles to Paris flight on 4/17/08. Online itineary shows it's a 777 plane which is one of the types listed to be refurbished to these flat bed seats. Anyone know if they've gotten to these yet? Any recent flyers to Paris on this route?

I believe there are three planes that have the new seats at this point--two 767s and one 747 (not even sure if that one has started flying yet). The 777s are the last of the three models to start getting the new seats, so I'd say it's not likely.

Edited to add: The seat map is currently showing the old configuration for that flight on 4/17.

Your plane to Paris in April WILL BE an old style 772, which is most likely to be XC/XI (which has row 8, seats A/B-H/J) or the XP (which does not have those seats.

There is ZERO chance that you will have the upgraded version.

Best, Dave

We just flew (Mar 2) on a United 777 from Denver to Chi continuing to Amsterdam, and the plane had the fancy sleeping pods. There were two first class sections. Are these not the pods you are speaking of? Due to mechanical issues we were delayed 4.5 hours in Denver.... We had a lovely stay in Chicago.

Thanks for the input everyone. Oh well - sigh - maybe we'll luck out at the last minute.
