UA is not in good financial shape; but airfares go up and down daily, so the two things have nothing to do with each other.

well have not seen a drop like this route in a number of years. Watch it regularly.

ir fares are now going up and down HOURLY....Spoke with a girl who works in the support desk for travel agents..all she did all day yesterday was approve fares that one hour before had been anywere from $15 to $40 lower.....A lower fare is not an indication of insolvency, never has been.Nor is it "alarming".If it is any kind of "indication" it is one of indecision. The airlines simply dont know how far to push the proverbial envelope, in the words of a guru on Dallas TV last night.

I think one can also find it alarming if UA raises price by $200. The comment then will be: "OMG, they're running out of cash! That's why they're raising fares so much!"

;)

AA dropped fares last week before making the baggage charge announcement. Perhaps UA is getting ready to add a few charges to travel.
