UAL 777 . . . ?

Anyone fly United's triple 7 on their international routes? I'd like to hear about your experience. How are the cabins (coach, premier coach)? How is the service and food? What type of food is served? Are the individual tv screen pretty good? Do you get a choice of movies to watch from or are movies synchronized so that everyone watches the same movies at the same time? Also, are there cartoons or children programs on those tv -- i'm taking a 5 year old with me so this would really help. I hear mixed messages on united's service, but my experience has been pretty good with domestic flights. How are their international service? Is there anyway to use their airport lounges during layovers if I fly coach? Any suggestions on how to 'beat the system'?

Flew Coach LHR-LAX last year on a 777.

Legroom surprisingly generous (I'm 6'5")
Service was good, attentive. Food Ok, not bad not great. There are a choice of movies available, however you cannot watch the movie "on demand" i.e. they all start at the same time, so you have to wait for them all to finish before you start to watch another. I can't remember if there was a childrens channel, although i'd assume so, most other airlines i've been on have this facility.
I'd certainly fly with them again.

There was less leg room on the aircraft than the Horizon Shuttle. I was NOT impressed at all.

Service was poor. If you have long legs, forget it. Pick a foreign carrier. Check out British Air, they have the best airfares right now.

Depends on that particular plane's configuration. It may or may not be the same for every airline or even within the same airline.

As a UA employee in 1997 I flew UA ORD-CDG nonstop on the 777,F class,it was, outstanding, service, food, video, and seat comfort were excellent. They should have at least one video channel with childrens programming, check their website,United.com....Flew back CDG-Wash-Dulles,in connessuer class,(business class) which was fine, not as lavish as F.Where and when are you going?
