UA S fare ticket on International route in four months

I leave in four months HNL/NRT and the S fares have now come up on this route. Should I grab them now or wait ? Does and S fare ever go lower?

Aloha!

It is a good fare, ht. The economy fares are Y, B, M, H, Q, V, W, T, S, K, L (as listed at the link below at at ua dot com). Can't predict whether K or L fares will be offered for on/about your dates, and whether they will be lower. And the difference might be only $50. I found a ticket price of $758 for October, K outbound and L inbound.

Here is the webpage for UA fare code info at ft, I am pretty sure that you have seen it before:

You might ask at ft about that.

Thanks Bill, that's the page I was looking for but had forgotten where it was.

Where are you getting the $758 from in Oct, HNL or LAX?

Aloha!

It was Oct 2-18, HNL-NRT. I sounds high. First, I did a search at travelocity.ca using flexible dates and it showed CAD $550+ but then said the fare was no longer valid. The next highest was $590 and I think that is when it showed me the calendar, for October, but there was no availability. So then I went to ua dot com.

Seems that the fares vary within booking code depending on purchase or travel dates. One January, I saw bottom booking code fares for LAX-FRA at around $400 or $450 for Jan/Feb travel, with SWU-upgradeable W fares at $600. A month or so later the L/K fares were $600. For LAX-DME, they had a route introduction special. Apparently, it was for March 29 - April 2. I got a W fare for April 2. Departing the next day would have cost $400 more for the W fare.

When I search for fares LAX-SIN I haven't seen T,S,K,L fares available, but the W fares at ~ $900 are pretty good.

Thanks Bill.....I am now committed to lv:9/30 - rtn:10/31 and the s fares are high at this time but that's the breaks for choosing those particular days and not being flexible I guess.

I can get much better using JAL but don't have any status (or miles to upgrade to bus) with JAL. There is a HI trvl agent I use who is offering three nights and air for 779.00 x 2 using JAL but already have free Tokyo hotels this time around and again no upgrades available.....

The in laws might take us for a 5 night "long weekend" using this as they need "tour guides", lol

Aloha!
