Has anyone flown with Turkish Airlines? Comments please -- both positive and negative. Anyone have a preferred airline from Washington DC to Istanbul? Thanks.

I have never flown Turkish transatlantic but have flown with Turkish many times in Europe and the Middle East and have always had very good flights and service.

We flew three times within Turkey. All the flights were on time and pleasant.

My daughter flew them round trip from Munich to Istanbul, and then with us on the other three flights. She later flew them Stockholm-Istanbul -Bangkok. Again, all the flights were on time, served meals and had decent entertainment.

Prefer usually United/Continental flights

via Zurich usually cheaper I can use FF CCs bonuses

to max my FF miles and usually

pick up 2 free internationa FF awards.

Worth it for me amenities not that much different

FF miles a tonne better for me...

I've flown Turkish Airlines about half a dozen times from France to Turkey (and back). I prefer them to Air France on the same route. Friendly, more spacious seating, decent food.

Try the sour cherry juice they serve-- it's really yummy!
