TSA rules about liquids in carry on?
i checked TSA web site--I understand the (3) 3 ounce containers...into one zip lock bag---
not clear if you can have --say 5--3 ounce containers--as long as they fit in zip lock bag?? There is a picture on the site of zip lock bag with 4-5 containers of different colors??? I thought they had to be clear or opaque?? Usually I check my bag but this trip I have tight connections-different airlines, so want my bag with me.. |

As many as can fit. <<There is a picture on the site of zip lock bag with 4-5 containers of different colors??? I thought they had to be clear or opaque??>> Any colors and shapes. |
Thank you very much for quick response..

No color/shape requirement - since officially things like toothpaste, lip gloss have to get stuffed into the bag as well.

Don't fixate on "3oz". That is the maximum container size. But the majority of travel sized products are smaller than 3 oz. In fact just about the only 3oz bottle I regularly take are mouthwash and sometimes sunscreen.
Some cosmetics/creams are as small as .5 or 1 oz. In my packing class my one qt. demo baggie actually contains 23 items. From mascara to mouthwash. |
I was told by a TSA agent that anything measured in fluid ounces must go in the ziplock.......

"anything measured in fluid ounces must go in the ziplock......."
Yes, but also some items measured by weight, e.g., toothpaste and other things of similar consistency. |
